Okay all you fan fic fans (BWBM 2006). I promised you a teaser for Broken Threads, and here it is. Go to my links (on the side of this page) and click on the one for Broken Threads. Then let me know what you think.
Obviously I've done some work on it. But I have a long ways to go. It may look like I've already met my goal (two chapters done) but not hardly. If you look closely, you'll see that I actually have about three chapters started. They have a long ways to go before they'll be done.
And FYI, the stuff in red is the stuff that defininetly has to be changed.
I promised you a teaser and here it is -
SUMMER RAIN
It was a hot, dry summer. The rains that should have come never did. The grass withered and dried. The cattle bawled and clustered around the drying water holes. They grew thinner and thinner and wandered farther than they should have in their search for food.
[*Something about the family will go here I think]
They were tired. Tired of the heat. Tired of the endless dust. Tired of stormclouds that formed and then blew on by. Tempers flared. Arguments erupted over the smallest incident. Dinners became mini-wars - Adam and Joe facing off over the roast beef, Ben bellowing at them to be quiet and eat. Even the normally even-tempered Hoss felt like banging some heads together.
So, what do you think? Worth continuing? I'm going to anyway
Next time I'll add a Broken Threads teaser.
Ellie
Well, it's started (if you have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about check out the BW link or go to http://www.geocities.com/beach_monkee/BW_Book_Month.html).
I guess I'd better get busy if I want to acomplish my goals. If my head had been screwed on straight this morning, you could read a little bit of Summer Rain. But it wasn't, so I guess you'll just have to wait. Maybe tomorrow.

I tried this out today, just for fun. But the answer was just spooky. It describes me so well-

Endless Road is totally completed. That means it's proofread, folks! which means you can read it! YOu can go to the link here, but it's got a slight problem. For som reason it replaced all the ( ' )'s with gibberish. I'll try to fix it ASAP.
But if you want to read it RIGHT NOW, go the the BW library.
Also, Project: Cross-stitch is coming along nicely. It's actually almost done. More on that next time.
TTFN,
Ellie
BWBM is over. So sad. I really did have fun with it, despite all my whining and procrastinating over my fan fic. But it's "done" now and I need to find something else to do. I could work on my other fan fics, but I think I'm kind-of burned out at the moment. I will write them eventually, just not yet.
So, what will I do with myself? Actually I already found something to do. I'll talk about it here, but not on the board because I want it to sort-of be a surprise. Hah, fat chance
!
What is it? Well, I'm not a half bad cross-stitcher as I have been stitching since I was twelve. My first project was a pair of geese (hated those geese, but my cross-stitch teacher who was also my babysitter - and no she wasn't some cross-old lady, she's not all that much older than me- said I had to finish the geese before I could go on to my second project). And that second project was a map of the Oregen Trail, very very cool and very difficult for a beginner.
Anyway, the Oregon Trail still needs framed, so I pulled it out the other night to look at it. And it gave me an idea. I'm going to X-stitch the Ponderosa map!!!
Actually, as of now I've already started it. It won't be easy. I couldn't find a real pattern, so I printed it off my computer onto graph paper. The colors of Lake Tahoe and the border of the Ponderosa blend together at the top of the lake so it's really hard to see where to stitch. And, after I stitched 16 trees on the left side of the Ponderosa (around the little miner) I figured out a better way to make them and so I had to rip them all out and start over (it took me two hours to rip them out, and my neck was killing me when I was done).
But I think it does have possibilities and I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Honestly guys, you have no idea what my life is like right now. I feel like I'm going in circles.
Right now I'm waiting for the "final edition" to come back from my proofreader. As soon as it does, I promise I'll post Endless Road so you'all can read it. I know you're dying to, but please be patient with me a little longer.
